A gunshot was reported at 7:55 p.m. in the 1500 block of Flanigan Drive, the San Jose Police Department said in a social media post.
Police said a suspect was barricaded inside a home.
As of 10:50 p.m., officers were trying to “negotiate a peaceful surrender,” police said.
Streets in the surrounding area were closed and police advised people to avoid the area.
