Early-stage Dementia Detection Startup Med Tech Raises $2.13 Million

A company that specializes in brain health software successfully raised $2.13 million for their latest project which detects early-stage dementia.

A California-based health tech company called In-Med Prognostics has raised $2.13 million led by Exxora and with participation from prominent angels.

In-Med Prognostics is a leading provider of deep learning algorithms and machine learning, which helps in the assessment and detection of neurological disorders. Early-stage dementia detection can help reduce symptoms and improve patient health.

Scientists from the University of Cambridge have found that it’s possible to detect dementia nine years before its onset. Recently, 39-year-old Australian actor Chris Hemsworth, popular for his playing Thor in Marvel films, took a break from acting after discovering that he was at an higher risk of developing Alzheimers.

In-Med India was founded in 2018 by Latha Poonamallee, PhD from Case Western Reserve University, Professor and Fulbright Scholar, serial entrepreneur Rajesh Purushottam and Al Curran, PhD, Stanford University. The U.S. arm of the company, In-Med Inc., was formed in 2021.

In-Med Prognostics is beyond thrilled about this new investment that will allow them to make their product suite stronger and support their mission of bringing state-of-the-art medical technology to the emerging world.

The company’s statement indicated that it would use the funds to improve their product line and increase their global reach.ar

“We continue to invest in start-ups, such as In-Med Prognostics, that are providing innovative solutions for the arena of preventive brain health using AI and Deep Learning,” Sriram Natarajan, Exxora, added.

In India, In-Med Prognostics Inc. is working with Aarthi Scans, Scansworld, Gujarat Scans, Nanavati, and Cauvery hospitals. The company will also expand to Africa and target the global multi-billion dollar diagnostic and wellness market. They say they can win a significant share in new market opportunities over the next 2-3 years.
