God Uses the Natural to Show the Supernatural

But whoever lives the truth comes to the light, so that his works may be clearly seen as done in God.

John 3:21

Last month at a daily mass, Fr. Frassati gave a homily on how God uses the Natural to show the supernatural. He was on his way to the hospital to see a patient during the eclipse and the day became darker. As he arrived at the patient’s room the sun began to reappear and shine. The patient remarked that he brought with him the light of the world-Jesus Christ through the blessed sacrament.

We are all called to be the light of the world-to shine brightly reflecting the glory of God living fully alive in mind, body, and spirit. And we do this because God so loved the world that he gave his only-begotten Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him (John 3:16-17).
