Following the announcement of one of the largest jackpots in Mega Millions history, thousands of people are wondering how to purchase tickets and whether they can do so online.

How to play
All you have to do is buy a $2 ticket and pick six numbers. To win, you must match all six numbers.
White balls can be found in the first five ranks (from 1 to 70). The last number, from 1 to 25, is known as the Golden Mega Ball.
Tickets are available at convenience stores nationwide. Mega Millions tickets are available online in some states.
Today’s Mega Millions jackpot pales in comparison to the $2 billion Powerball jackpot, which was up for grabs earlier this month. However, if a lucky person matches all six numbers, today’s winner will receive a $157.8 million cash option.

Mega Millions® tickets are $2.00 each.
Players can choose six numbers from two separate pools of numbers – five different numbers ranging from 1 to 70 (the white balls) and one number ranging from 1 to 25 (the gold Mega Ball) – or they can choose Easy Pick/Quick Pick. If you match all six winning numbers in a drawing, you win the jackpot.
