Live Your Life By Design Not Default

We can design our lives, no matter how out of our control it can feel at times. Do you have dreams? Do you have a passion? Do you have a purpose? Do you have goals? When we don’t have conscious goals to work towards, we will often have unconscious goals that we are working towards without conscious effort. If our conscious goal was to get healthier, we can we working outwards that. If we didn’t have that conscious goal we are likely to be working towards the opposite without consciously realising it. We are working towards becoming or remaining unhealthy. Much is the same in any aspect of our lives. When we don’t have conscious goals we are working to a default setting, not to our design. Without clear goals in every aspect of our life we just meander through it by default potentially working even further back from where we really may want to go and far from our potential.

Habits are similar to goals, we can work on improving our habits consciously, when we do they are usually helpful and healthy goals. When we don’t work on them consciously the habits being fostered can be unhelpful and unhealthy. Not deciding is a decision. Whatever we are not changing we are choosing. Think about your habits and think about your goals. Live your life by design not by default.
