Feel The Feelings Without Becoming The Emotion

We can learn to feel anger without becoming angry. We can learn to feel hurt without becoming upset. We can learn to feel fear without becoming scared. When we deny, numb, ignore or supress a feeling it doesn’t go away. It remains and comes back in another way. We feel how we feel, feelings come, and they go. They pass though us when we feel them. We don’t’ need to attach to them or becomes them to feel them. It takes time and it takes practice. Time and practice of not resisting the uncomfortable feelings. Feelings are not good or bad, they are just feelings. It takes time and practice of not judging them. When we think that we should/shouldn’t feel something, we are judging it not feeling it. We feel how we feel and that’s ok. Once it’s felt, it passes. Sometimes this is a fleeting process sometimes it takes hours, even days. Sometimes we don’t feel good, accepting that we don’t feel good helps the feeling pass. Most situations get better with time. Feelings pass in time. The time passes more quickly when we don’t resist how we feel. Stress comes from us wanting a situation or circumstance to be any different than what it is. When we can accept situations and circumstances for what they are, we have no stress. If something needs to be and can be changed, change it. If something needs to be changed and can’t be, we can learn to change our perception of it. It’s not always easy but it is always possible. Feel the feelings without becoming the emotion.
