Medical masks are mostly made of one or more layers of nonwovens. The main production processes include melt blown, spunbond, hot air or needling, etc., which can resist liquids, filter particles and bacteria. The medical mask is composed of a mask face and a tension band. The mask face is divided into three layers: inner Layer, middle layer and outer layer. The inner layer is made of skin friendly material (ordinary sanitary gauze or non-woven fabric), the middle layer is made of isolation filter layer (ultra-fine polypropylene fiber melt blown material layer), and the outer layer is made of special material antibacterial layer (non-woven fabric or ultra-thin polypropylene melt blown material layer).

The self-priming filter type anti particulate respirator is also called “dust mask”, “dust mask”, “dust mask” and so on. It is mainly used to protect dust, smoke, fog and other particulate pollutants. It is widely used in industrial production and daily life. The common N95 respirator belongs to this kind of product, N95 is the protection grade in American Standard, equivalent to kn95 protection grade in Chinese national standard GB 2626.

According to the mask structure, self-priming filter type anti particulate respirator products can be divided into disposable mask, replaceable half mask and full mask. Disposable mask is the most widely used, most of which are made of inner and outer two-layer non-woven fabric and middle one-layer filter fabric (melt blown fabric).

Due to the different workplaces, people are generally exposed to two types of particulate matter: non oily particulate matter, such as dust, water-based fog, paint fog, oil-free smoke (welding smoke), microorganisms, and oily particulate matter, such as oil fog, oil smoke, asphalt smoke, coke oven smoke, etc. The masks used to protect non oily particles are “KN” masks, while the masks used to protect oily particles are “KP” masks. Different dust masks use different filter materials. The filter materials suitable for oily particles can also be used for non oily particles. The general civilian use is mainly “KN” masks.
