DesiDieter is motivating everyone to move more. We want you to walk more and sit less. TV viewing is an essential need in our lives. Our abode sounds gloomy if there is no TV noise in the backdrop. It entertains us, befriends us and updates us. Can't live without TV today in this well socially media networked but otherwise aloof society.  So, for all in favour of the Television, there is news for you “Every hour of TV you watch may shorten your lifespan by 22 minutes”. This is not just a preaching but a documented study. A study by researchers at the University of Queensland in Australia (published in British Journal of Sports Medicine) has concluded that, for every hour of television watched after age 25, the average human lifespan drops by 22 minutes. A person who watches six hours of TV per day will, on average, live five years less than people who spent less time on the couch and in front of the television screen. A person who spends six hours a day staying active is almost certainly going to live longer than a person who likes to plop on the bed and watch continuous episodes of evening shows.  It’s not the TV that is killing you. It’s the sitting for long hours. After watching TV for 60 minutes, move around for next 3 minutes before you sit down again. And, next time before you hold the remote, I suggest ‘hide it”.
