The Lok Sabha adjourned at 2 p.m. on Friday after the Surrogacy Bill (Regulation) 2019 was enacted.
The Rajya Sabha has already enacted a regulation bill regulating surrogacy and other ART (Assisted Reproductive Techniques) treatments on December 9th.

Commercial surrogacy prohibits under the bill, and only altruistic surrogacy is permitted. In an altruistic surrogacy, the couple does not give the surrogate mother any compensation or money and only pays for medical bills and insurance coverage until the baby is born.
National and state surrogacy boards will be established, according to the bill. Appoint appropriate authority to oversee surrogacy practises and procedures.
Indian intended parents must have serious infertility concerns, be legally married for at least five years, have passed the authority boards, and be 23-50 years old for females and 26-55 years old for males to have surrogacy.
