What do I love most about this Paleo diet? That I can still eat one of my most craved foods – burgers! A nice juicy paleo burger packed with flavor never gets old to me. And there are so many variations of the classic American burger that will keep your taste buds on the edge of their seats.

While I am constantly looking for different ways to spice up my paleo burgers, this one recipe has to be hands down, my favorite! Anytime you add bacon and garlic to anything – I’m in! These bacon jalapeño stuffed paleo burgers are super easy to make and will satisfy the entire crowd.

Why Grass-fed Beef?

There are a lot of different labels on meats out there that sound really good but it’s hard to know exactly what they mean. When selecting beef, it is best to go for the ones that say “100% grass-fed.” This means the cattle are fed mostly a grass-based diet vs a grain diet. This grain diet is a very unnatural diet consisting of soy and corn.

Grass-fed beef has more nutrients in it vs grain-fed beef. All beef consists of multiple vitamins including B12, B3, B6, and bioavailable iron, selenium, and zinc. However, grass-fed beef does contain higher levels of these vitamins.

Grass-fed beef also contains higher levels of Vitamin A and Vitamin E. In comparison to grain-fed beef, grass-fed beef tends to be leaner and contains fewer calories.

Prep your ingredients

The first thing you’re going to want to do is to cook the bacon that will go inside your paleo burger. Cook your bacon pretty crispy so it’s easier to break into smaller pieces when you’re done.

While the bacon is cooking, chop up your onion. Then, deseed your jalapeños and chop them up as well.

You can use fresh garlic and chop it up or minced garlic.

In a large mixing bowl, add your beef, onion, jalapeños, garlic, and bacon. It’s easiest to get your hands messy and use them to really mix everything together.

Cook your burgers to perfection

I like to use a cast iron to cook my paleo burgers, but a regular frying pan will work too. Heat your pan to medium / high heat.

Using your hands, roll patty mix into a ball then gently press your palms together to flatten out the patty on top and bottom. Depending on how thick you like your burger will depend on how much you want to flatten them out.

This will make 8 patties. Add them to your heated pan.

Cook on each side for about 5-6 minutes before flipping. Cook another 5-6 minutes on the other side. Depending on how rare you like your burgers, you may need to cook another couple minutes on each side.

To keep things grain-free and low carb – I like to eat my paleo burger with a lettuce wrap. And you can’t forget the pickles on the side!

Condiments and Sides

Everyone has their go-to condiments to complete their perfect paleo burger. Whether it be ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, ranch, hot sauce, or so many others. Unfortunately, so many of these condiments are packed with added sugars and artificial ingredients. They can also be very high in sodium.

Paleo Ketchup

This paleo ketchup is free of high-fructose corn syrup and is easy and fast! If you can’t make your own I recommend the Primal Kitchen Unsweetened Ketchup.

Paleo Ranch

If you’re one of those that can eat ranch dressing on everything then you will love this dairy-free paleo ranch recipe! It also goes great with our slow-baked BBQ paleo chicken wings!

Sugar Free Sriracha

Have you ever tried spicy mayonnaise? It’s good on eggs, steak, and definitely will go great with your bacon jalapeño stuffed burgers. Try our sugar-free Sriracha recipe and mix it with your favorite paleo-friendly mayonnaise.

Mayo

My favorite Paleo-friendly mayo is Chosen Foods Traditional Mayo. It’s 100% avocado oil-based mayo and can be found on Amazon.

Paleo Zucchini Pasta Salad

One of my favorite side dishes – this paleo zucchini pasta salad is full of flavor (and bacon!) and goes great with burgers, chicken, or steaks!
