Here we are mentioning quite simple and easy steps to do Tree Pose\ Vrikshasana.

  • To begin with, stand upright while keeping both the arms by your side
  • After that, set the bottom of one of your foot on the opposite inner thigh. You can keep the base either above or below your knee acceding to your will.
  • Now while staying in this pose, join both the palms as in Salutation Seal or Añjali Mudrā
  • To be more stable, you can gaze or look at any particular thing or point so that you can keep your balance
  • Keep inhaling and exhaling regularly and relax
  • Stay for 30-60 seconds or as long as you can
  • Then release the pose and return to the initial position

Precautions to be taken while practicing the Tree Pose

Does not matter how easy a yoga asana seem to be, every yoga posture should be done with meticulousness. It is very important to consider Do's and Dont's while practicing yoga.  Therefore it is very important to know what you should avoid and what should you adapt.

  • Avoid this yoga posture in case of high blood pressure
  • Always keep the base of your foot only above or below the knee. Do not set it on the knee as it will exert the unwanted pressure on the knee of your leg
  • While stretching your arms up, make sure to do it quite gently or you might probably pull a muscle
  • In case you feel any kind of pain in your legs, knees or arms; drop the pose
  • To make your pose stable, do not look here and there. Find a point or literally anything at front and fix your eyes on it. Moving eyes does not help to be at stable position
  • In case you are unable to hold the pose, do not stop practicing it. Initially, try to hold the tree pose just for 5 seconds. Then gradually increase your pace. Do not attempt to hold the pose for 60-80 seconds. Begin with low and then go towards the high
