Treatments for Skin Blemishes

Treatments For Skin Blemishes

When you think about it, our Skin is the most important aspect of our bodies. Every day it protects us from harmful UV rays, cold or hot temperatures, and everything else directed at us. With so much from which to protect us, it is no surprise that our skin can develop blemishes. Whether you are suffering from sun damage or acne, skin blemishes can bring down your self-confidence. Luckily, Dr. Wright and his team have perfected a variety of treatments for skin blemishes.

Acne Treatments

Perhaps the most common skin blemish is acne. Most of us had it as a child and eventually outgrew the condition. Some others do not have the same luck and can experience acne all throughout their life. We offer a variety of Treatments that can help reduce the appearance of your acne. These treatments are typically minimally invasive, meaning you can be in and out of the office and return to your daily schedule right away.

One of our most popular treatment for acne is the chemical peel. This procedure is incredible at exfoliating your skin that does wonders to your acne. We provide chemical peels for a variety of skin conditions. For acne, we use a specific solution that will target all kinds of acne found on your face.

Another aspect someone with acne will find on their skin is inflammation. Your skin around the acne outbreak will appear irritated due to bacteria below the skin’s surface. We can treat this irritation and inflammation with Blue U, a UV blue light treatment, that targets these bacteria. You can have the bacterial infection removed in one swift treatment.

If you are experiencing severe acne, it might be best to remove the breakout, specifically the whiteheads or blackheads that develop with severe acne. We are able to remove these heads without causing trauma to the skin that can lead to acne scarring. Our sterile environment ensures your blackheads get removed safely instead of popping them at home.

Acne Scar Treatments

When an individual has picked at their acne or left it untreated, it can eventually form acne scar tissue across the impacted area. Like regular scar tissue, acne scars remain, leaving an unsightly presence where you once had acne. Fortunately, we also offer a variety of treatment plans designed to reduce and hopefully remove the appearance of acne scars. The treatment plan recommended to you depends on your skin type.

We typically offer a topical solution treatment to help you reduce any scar appearance on your face. Scar tissue can leave behind discoloration and swelling and is mostly what you see when you irritate the tissue further. Our topical ointments help to saturate your skin with necessary vitamins. Your scar tissue will lighten up once it has nutrients and is hydrated.

If topical solutions do not work for you, a medical intervention may be needed instead. Scar tissue can leave indentations in the skin. Combat this change with fillers that can help fill in that missing tissue. However, these fillers are temporary and will need follow up sessions every four to six months to maintain your appearance. If you want more permanent results fillers may not be the choice for you. Other medical treatments we offer include laser treatments. Our treatments use fractional lasers that will heat up layers of your skin to invigorate collagen production. Collagen is what keeps our skin feeling soft and refreshed. As collagen tissue is produced it will naturally fill in any indentations in your scar tissue, giving your face a refreshed look.

Wart and Mole Removal Treatments

Other blemishes that can ruin your look include warts and moles. Moles are natural and can grow in size as you age. While moles can seem perfectly fine, they can lead to further issues such as skin cancer. Warts on the other hand are skin growths caused by HPV. They can be mostly painless but are easily noticeable on the skin. Warts often have a rough texture and can grow anywhere on the body. We are able to remove your warts and moles easily from our offices. Medication is often used at first but may not be able to treat all forms of warts or moles. Surgical removal can handle most wart or mole growths. Our third treatment available is cryotherapy that will help freeze the wart or mole tissue, making it even easier to remove. Dr. Wright is an experience dermatologist who has handled all forms of warts and moles.
