Everywhere you turn, specialists are planning their forecasts for 2022, so I thought I’d throw my hat into the ring and give what I believe to be the trends that will shape the world of Shockwave Therapy over the coming year based on Gainswave Bellevue’s personal experience.

INCREASED MEDICAL REFERRALS

Doctors and surgeons are waking up to the benefits that Shockwave Therapy can bring to their patients. In 2019.

We saw significant growth in the number of requests I received from professors looking to refer patients with critical issues, like joint replacements that had displeased them to respond to surgery and stop complex remedial revisions.

Gainswave Bellevue was also overwhelmed with questions from medical professionals seeking to build on their basic shockwave training.

SURGE IN POPULARITY AMONG ATHLETES

Speaking of professionals, I think there will be a rush in the number of licensed sports people trying the treatment as awareness increases. Some premier league football clubs in the UK currently use Shockwave on their members and overseas clubs like AC Milan football club.

Its experimental research center, the Milan Lab, has studied and utilized Shockwave Therapy to keep their athletes in top condition and solve chronic injuries.  This year players have been treated with patella tendinopathy – a severe inflammation of the central tendon that attaches to the lower part of the kneecap and shin bone, which has often been torn or degenerated in some cases.

The players had all undergone surgery in the hope of improving the problem but were still in severe pain and had consumed every other option. Most players had been experiencing these problems 2-3 years before seeing me; they could not run, squat, and had trouble walking down the stairs. After undergoing Shockwave Therapy, they could start a strong recovery program for the first time because they were not in pain.

In the future, I think we will be creating more and more athletes and regular patients as the shockwave solution message spreads all over the world.
