Removing makeup by the end of the day can seem like a task for most of us but in the longer run, your Skin will thank you for doing it.

Any kind of makeup whether it includes a full Face with foundation, concealer, liner, lipstick or even a simple kajal pencil, the thumb rule says, removal of every last bit of make up, allows your skin to breath normal.

Every woman does follow some set of skin routine depending on how lazy they are.

Cleansing, toning, and moisturize (CTM) method is the most basic way to maintain your face for youthful and clogged free pores.

Travelling is part of our daily life hence dirt, pollution and dust is part of our skin. By the end of the day, it is necessary to clean the dirt from the face and allow it to breathe.

Hence the CTM method is the easiest way to get clean and clear skin.

CTM method is one of the easiest ways and depending on your skin type and the time you can give to your skin, products can be added to this routine such as face oil, face serum, acne products, etc.

Step #1: Choose A Right Cleanser

Depending on the skin type, use a cleanser such as oil or cream based for dry skin, oil-free for acne-prone skin, etc.

A cleanser should be gentle on skin, it should not strip down natural face oil because it will dry out the skin. The pH of the skin, if disturbed, either it will dry out the skin causing eczema or will make the face oily by generating more sebum.

10 Step Korean Skin Care Routine

Makeup removal can be oil or water based, depending on your type of makeup. A cleanser will remove the last bit of makeup and clean the clogged pores.

Choosing a correct cleanser is very important, a wrong cleanser will strip down the excess of oil from the face or may not even clean properly.

A pea-size cleanser will be enough for the entire face and neck, never forget the neck area.

Lather up the cleanser with some water, massage gently on the face for a minute and wash it off with cold water. Cold water closes the open pores. Always pat dry the face with a soft towel.

Step #2: Toning To Balance Skin pH

Toning is the most neglected step in this basic routine. Toner should match the skin pH level.

Toning is a deep cleansing step where taking a small amount of toner on a cotton pad and gently cleansing the face will remove the dirt. You will be amazed by the amount of leftover makeup residue on your face.

While toner is considered to dry down your skin but toner based as alcohol-free or parabens free will take care of not drying out your skin.

Hydrating or calming ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, cucumber, rose water will help your skin plump and restore the skin pH levels.

Step #3: Moisturize

Cleansing and toning removes dirt and oil from the skin, hence moisturizing will make your skin hydrated.

But if you are looking for extra care, a face oil, face serum, and acne or spot treatment should be the ideal step after toning.

Rose Glow Serum For Spotless and Glowing Skin

A face oil is infused with natural and botanical ingredients will boost skin regeneration process while a face serum is concentrated product particularly dealing with skin issues such as hyperpigmentation, dark spots, wrinkles, etc.

If all these steps aren’t up your alley, you can skip and directly choose a moisturizer of your choice.

The last step in the routine is to choose a correct moisturizer. Choose according to your skin, and look for ingredients which will help your skin retain moisture and plump further.

Ingredients such as hyaluronic acid will bring back moisture to the skin and rehydrate the skin. While dimethicone, glycolic acid, retinol will rescue the skin from an excess of oil production. Salicylic acid is one such ingredient will help with acne breakouts.

All this can be overwhelming as it involves information which may not be feasible to understand.

But you can always read up some articles, reviews about the products, test a sample and then indulge further.

Start with the basic CTM method and accordingly add other products, if needed.
