4 Asian Foods Great for Bodybuilders

Everyone knows that Protein is an important component of our diet. The human body needs it to build and repair tissues. Protein also ensures our body has balanced amount of hormones, enzymes and the like. We do not need to go very scientific however in here.

We all know that in all practicality, we need protein so that we will have healthier hair, nails, bones, muscles, cartilage, skin and even blood. See? It’s nearly impossible not to view protein as important with all these functions!

Are you an aspiring bodybuilder who thinks it is impossible to stick to a high-protein diet f your favorite cuisine is Asian? Do you equate Asian food to carbs, carbs, and carbs? Do you think Asian food is all about rice and noodles? Well, think again. Asian cuisine can be high in protein too and you do not even need magic to look for these foods. Some of these can be found in your favorite Asian restaurants! Below are just 4 of these Asian dishes:

1. Tofu

Isn’t tofu as Asian as rice is? But do you know that it has high protein content? Tofu, or bean curd, as some Asian restaurants will call it, is cultivated from soybeans. Apart from its high protein content, which can help build your muscles and bones, it also has qualities that can help lower cholesterol by as high as 3%.

Apart from protein, it also contains high amounts of acids, iron, and calcium – all the other goodies that your body needs to function on a daily. Soy protein also has fewer fats, so incorporating this into your everyday diet is a good idea. Tofu in different Asian restaurants can be prepared in various ways – fried, steamed, in soy sauce, with minced pork, with fish, with chicken, and many more others! Just point away at the menu of your favorite Asian restaurants, they’ll have at least one dish with tofu in it.

2. Chicken Meat

Chicken meat is a high protein food. Have you ever been in an Asian restaurant without chicken on their menu? No matter how they are prepared or cooked, most Asian dishes have chicken. There is a reason why chicken is such a popular food among fitness enthusiasts and bodybuilders. Visit any Asian restaurant and you can opt for baked, stir-fried, soy-based, chicken dishes. Chicken broth is quite a popular staple in Asian restaurants too.

3. Saba/Mackerel/Sushi

Fish has high amounts of protein. Next to chicken, fish is a staple in Asian restaurants – regardless if they are Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Filipino, Vietnamese, or Thai, among others. There is always going to be a dish with fish as the main ingredient.

Of course, if you prefer Japanese, then you can have unlimited salmon sashimi for your high-protein diet. Every slice of salmon has an unbelievable amount of omega-3 fatty acids as well, which can prevent heart issues such as CVD and hypertension.

4. Beef

Beef is another protein-rich food and a key ingredient for many Asian dishes. If you go to any Chinese or Vietnamese restaurant, you can always order a big bowl of beef noodles. The Pho-Classic Viet noodle soup contains a good amount of beef, vegetables, and noodles in a thick beef broth soup. The noodles will not ruin your low-carb diet at all, since they are not that much, compared to rice or bread.

People often misconstrue protein as something only bodybuilders should be stocking up on, but just for all the reasons that have been stated, it is apparent that even if you are not a bodybuilder, your diet should ideally be high in protein, and maybe so much lesser in sugar, carbohydrates, and fats.
