Webinar on ‘NGS Data Management: Turning Data Into Knowledge’ on June 13, 2019

The development of next-generation sequencing technology has introduced fundamental changes in the process of genome sequencing in order to reduce cost and turnaround time. With its immense potential, next-generation sequencing enables the understanding of the threat that a particular disease can pose to an individual, and aid in the development of precise curative medical procedures.

Over the past two decades, the amount of genomic data has risen exponentially, especially after the inception of the Human Genome Project – one of the first federally funded initiatives put forth by the National Institute of Health (U.S.). These huge sets of genomic data can only be useful when they are appropriately analyzed and interpreted.  In order to analyze and interpret such huge datasets, the industry requires new tools and resources for identifying hidden patterns underneath a human genome which can significantly improve the clinical decision making process.

The demand for NGS data analysis and interpretation is on a significant rise owing to the rising volume of genomics data. In order to manage these datasets, there is a huge need for Informatics tools. In coming years, informatics tools for data analysis, interpretation and clinical reporting is expected to drive the overall NGS Informatics market growth. Also, as the pipelines become more and more standardized, the primary as well as secondary tools will significantly become a part of mainstream NGS data analysis. Furthermore, the components of NGS informatics will gain further traction with the increasing demand for bringing NGS into the clinical setting.

Thus, substantial investments are being made in bioinformatics start-ups and service providing Companies. The major companies in the market are seeking the help of the bioinformatics start-ups for handling such large pool of data which is the current market need. The service providing companies help in expanding the global reach of the major companies and also play a significant role in increasing the adoptability of sequencing technologies across the globe.

To evaluate the current trends in the NGS data management and address the advancements occurring in the health informatics, BIS Research is conducting a webinar on:
