How to control your mind and thoughts

A string of Worries or regrets may happen while your thoughts are racing.  For most people the past issues generate sadness, anger, resentment and inadequacy and the future causes fear, anxiety and worry.

It can be seriously disturbing and frightening because it creates a sense of being out of control. You’re out of control but is does not mean you are crazy. It simply means that you are anxious and your stress level is higher than usual while having racing thoughts.

People try to use positive Thinking and meditation to counter the effects, but it really has short term benefits. Soon the feeling of being out of control comes back.

Use cognitive distancing: Our mind worries about all things that it is convinced are true but sometimes these things are actually not true. The ability to work on coming up with alternative scenarios can bring about a positive change. is nothing but coming out of your confused mind set and taking the proper decision to lead successful life.

Change the perspective : We tend to look at all past events with the same intensity and effect as it was when it occurred. Most people do not want to bring up the event and tend to keep it suppressed. Spend time recalling the event and see if you now look at the event with a different Perspective and understanding so that the intensity and effects reduce.

Use a mantra: To calm your mind a mantra is that you repeat just a simple phrase or word while doing that you can feel the peace at your inner mind. Repeating a mantra reduces activity of the stress in the part of your brain that gives you more reflection.

Breathe:  Try counting to three and pay attention only to your breathing as you breathe in and to five as you breathe out while make the process you try to slow it down.

Why do I worry excessively?

If you suffer from anxiety and worries, it means you looking at the world in ways that make it seem more threatening chances than what it is. We form our own thoughts about our ability to handle problems, and ability to analyze how to come out of life problems, we assume that the first sign of trouble we will fall apart. These pessimistic attitudes are known as cognitive distortions.

Relaxation techniques can change the brain

While following the above relaxation techniques you can provide some immediate respite from your worry and anxiety, practicing them regularly can also change your brain.

Talk about your worries

Keeping worries to yourself only causes them to build up until they seem overwhelming. To make sense of what you’re feeling and putting things in perspective can often help you feel better. Most of the fears are baseless, discussing them can open up a new train of thought which can reduce or eliminate the fear. By discussing fears and worries we get newer perspectives which can solve our problems.

Practice mindfulness

Stay focused on the present. If you find yourself getting stuck on a particular thought pay attention to the way your body feels, the rhythm of your breathing, ever-changing emotions, and the thoughts that drift across your mind, after that bring your attention back to the present moment.
