The Purpose of Meditation

What is the purpose of meditation?

The goal of Meditation is to go beyond the mind and experience our essential nature.
Which is described as peace, happiness, and bliss. But as anyone who has tried to
meditate knows, the mind itself is the biggest obstacle standing between ourselves and
this awareness. Our monkey-mind likes to jump around from one thought to another, bringing us back to past experiences or dreams of the future or listing us all the to-do list still remaining for the day.

Imagine the mind as a lake.

When you throw a stone in the Lake the water creates waves, when the stone reaches the
bottom, the mud or sand gets agitated and troubled. On the surface of the lake, you only see the waves created by the impact of the stone, and everything around and above the lake gets reflected, you can not see the bottom of the lake and the clearness of the water disappears. The surface of the lake is our Pandamaya Kosha, the outer layer of our body and the bottom is our Anandamaya Kosha, our center, the peaceful calm and still center, our bliss that lies within all of us.

Everything that you throw into the mind from the outside has an impact on us and troubles the center. The bottom of the lake is our true self called the Sattva, serene, calm, peaceful, joyful and clear, the lake is the Chitta and every wave is a Vritti. In order to see and find Sattva, we must calm the Vrittis of the Chitta. It is believed that every straight line, infinitely projected, must end in a circle. Every motion is in a circle. When you throw a stone into space it will eventually, when you live long enough come back to your hand at some point. We call it the boomerang effect. Just like electricity, the power leaves the dynamo and completes the circle by going back into the dynamo.

The same happens with our thoughts. Every thought you send out into the universe has a
frequency and will come back to its source. Every hateful and loving thought. If you hate, hatred will come back to you, if you are loving love will come back to you, completing the circle.

Meditation is meant to control these waves. By meditation, you can make the mind subdue these waves, and if you go on practicing meditation for days, months, years until it has become a habit until it will come in spite of yourself, anger and hatred will be controlled. This is not an easy task, and even the most experienced yogis can not control their millions of thoughts all the time. It requires a lot of discipline and hard work, it is a life long daily practice.

We must not forget that most problems are created by the thoughts in our minds, but we
also have the power to find the solution. We are the source but also the solution for
everything. all the answers lie within us. Meditation can help us calm the nervous system, bring equanimity to our thoughts, and reduce the effect of stress. The ultimate purpose of meditation is to reconnect to our source, a sea of consciousness, where we often just see ourselves as a wave and we forget that we are also the ocean itself. The moon is responsible for the waves of the water of the earth, due to her magnetic pull
she creates the waves of the oceans.

Our body consists of more than 60% of water, so it is only logical that the cycles of the moon also affect our body and every living thing on this planet, as everything is based on water. Be your own moon, create your frequencies, you have the power to control the waves of your ocean.
