Home Health Blog - Electronic Visit Verification in Minnesota
Staying with the recent nationwide trend of mandated EVV implementation in home health and homecare, the federal government is poised to require providers within some states to utilize an Electronic Visit Verification system to validate through electronic documentation that patients are accurately receiving the homecare services which agencies bill to the state.
From the inception of the 21st Century Cures Act, which was signed into law in December of 2016, providers of personal care services, (inclusive of personal care assistance (PCA) as well as some waiver services effective 2020) and home health care services (beginning in 2023) will need to establish and utilize an approved Electronic Visit verification system in order to be eligible for matching federal Medicaid dollars at the full rate.
