Things I’m Loving Friday #505

Hi and Happy Friday to Y-O-U! How was your week? It seems like a lot of people were out on spring break last week but our boys don’t have spring break until the end of the month so it was business as usual for our crew. Our week mostly looked like school, piano, karate, play dates and our typical weekday routine but it was good in its simplicity. I like our normal but know we’ll all be psyched for spring break when it arrives for our family!

As for the weekend ahead, we don’t have any concrete plans but a visit to a new-to-us science center is on our radar and we are hoping to spend some time with friends, too. I hope you all have a great weekend and really appreciate you stopping by the blog today. Keep on scrolling for this week’s roundup of favorites, Things I’m Loving Friday style!

Things I’m Loving Friday

  • Vuori Boyfriend Joggers

(Joggers: Vuori / Tank Bodysuit: Amazon / Bralette: Amazon / Sneakers: New Balance / Denim Jacket: Free People / Puff Weekender Bag: Target / Crossbody: Marc Jacobs but old / Carry-on Suitcase: Samsonite)

(Joggers: Vuori / Pink Hoodie: Amazon / Sneakers: New Balance / Tank: Abercrombie)

(Joggers: Vuori / Tank: Madewell / Bralette: Amazon / Sneakers: New Balance / Denim Jacket: Free People / Quilted Bag: Free People / Hat: Nike)

The love I have for these Vuori sweats is sky high, my friends. I’ve been buying Ryan Vuori athleisure clothing for Christmas or his birthday for a while now and he absolutely loves and raves about it so I’m not sure why it took me so long to take the plunge and give it a try myself. During our time in Las Vegas, I popped into a Vuori store in the Caesar’ Palace Forum Shops and left with my first Vuori purchase. The fit and fabric instantly sold me. They’re a dream and the fabric is next-level soft. I’m pretty sure I’ve worn these sweats 3-4 times a week ever since I brought them home with me. They’re the perfect weight — soft and cozy for colder weather but still lightweight and not too heavy for spring — and I find myself reaching for them again and again. They might actually be a problem because my desire to wear “real” pants and clothing has plummeted since I bought these sweats. They’re a little too good. I’m now eyeing their Daily Legging and love the little tie detailing along the high waistband. Have any of you tried them? Are they as amazing as their sweats/joggers?

  • The Coworker by Freida McFadden

My rating: B+

The Coworker was my latest audiobook and quite the entertaining listen! It’s a twisty thriller, slightly suspenseful and very entertaining. Like many of Frieda McFadden’s books, I didn’t find any of the characters in this novel particularly likable (and the one I did like lost me about halfway through) and yet I thought the book was creative and loved the way it kept me guessing with some twists I saw coming and one I did not.

The book centers around two women. Natalie is the gorgeous and outgoing lead saleswoman at Vixed, a nutritional supplement company, and is seemingly adored by clients and coworkers alike. Dawn Schiff is, in many ways, her opposite. Hired to be the company accountant, Dawn is socially awkward, obsessed with turtles and keeps such a predictable schedule that Natalie cannot help but notice the one morning Dawn is not seated at her desk at the usual time. Where is Dawn? Why isn’t she at work and how come no one knows where she is? When the phone rings later that morning and Natalie picks up, the words she hears on the other line have her convinced something terrible has happened to her coworker. As clues about Dawn’s disappearance begin surfacing, Natalie has even more questions and begins to wonder if Dawn is in serious danger and if she might be, too.

  • Simple Truth Organic Tangerine Lemongrass Seltzer Water

I’ve been a huge fan of sparkling water for years. I typically drink a can of it every single day and am always on the lookout for new fun flavors to try. It’s been a white since one blew me away but it happened this week after I put a case of Simple Truth Organic Tangerine Lemongrass water into my cart at Harris Teeter. I love the bubbles! I love the pop of citrus! I love the refreshing hint of lemongrass. This one is a winner through and through.

  • She’s Up to No Good by Sara Goodman Confino

My rating: A-

After reading and absolutely loving Don’t Forget to Write by Sara Goodman Confino, I was anxious to try another book by this new-to-me author. Up next for me was She’s Up to No Good and it was another read I enjoyed from start to finish. My only complaint is that is read much like Don’t Forget to Write (a lost young woman goes off with a hilarious and eccentric aging relative and meets an intriguing young man) but the book was still a delight and a perfect evening escape. The author has a gift for writing books that could easily fall into the beach read category but with a little more intrigue and depth. I’m quickly becoming a big-time fan of Sara Goodman Confino and will absolutely continue to read her novels.

The book begins with the end of Jenna’s four-year marriage to her husband. He tells her he’s leaving her for another woman and while Jenna is blindsided, she’s also aware she hasn’t exactly been happy in her marriage for a long time. In an effort to get out of the rut she finds herself in, Jenna agreed to join her unconventional and hilariously eccentric grandmother Evelyn on a trip to the small seaside town where her family set down roots years ago. Evelyn catches Jenna off guard by spending most of the road trip talking about her first great love, Tony. When the two women arrive, Jenna meets Tony’s great-nephew, Joe, the young man tasked by Evelyn to show Jenna around town. As Jenna learns more about her grandmother and her family history, she gains a newfound respect for her grandmother and comes to realize there’s strength and hope in leaning into the future, as scary and unpredictable as it may be.
