5 ways to maintain a healthy diet on vacation from the experts

Sticking to a workout routine while on Vacation isn’t exactly easy, especially if it involves new gym equipment or a Pilates reformer. Instead, prioritize movement over strenuous exercise.

“Physical activity can play an important role in your body’s metabolism and overall health, even when you’re on vacation,” explains internal medicine physician and Chief Medical Officer Anant Vinjamuri, MD. If possible, Vinjamuri says, take a walk or do some light exercise about 30 minutes after eating.

“In most people, this coincides with peak blood glucose, which helps optimize the body’s use of energy and Maintain better metabolic control,” he explains.

If you’re looking to move even more, set aside time in the morning to do a quick yoga session, go for a scenic run, or participate in a local exercise program to kickstart your day.
