All good things must come to an end.

The bat that Texas Rangers slugger Josh Hamilton has been pounding the cover off the ball with has died. It cracked in last night’s 13-6 win over the Angels.

“I cracked it on the last pitch,” Hamilton said. “But I got an RBI single, right? So it died a hero.”

It produced eight of the nine home runs he has in six games and will always be cherished in baseball’s Hall of Fame.

In the meantime, Hamilton’s super-human abilities have people taking to Twitter to discuss his video-game-like season.

ESPN says Josh Hamilton on pace for .402 with 89 HR and 218 RBI. Now that would be evidence of global warming.
