Mind-Blowing Connection Between Living Alone And Cancer Is Debated

It has been just revealed that there is a strong connection between living alone and Cancer. Check out the latest reports about the matter below.

Connection between cancer and living alone

Living alone can increase the Risk of illness, especially cancer, according to a recent study published in the American Cancer Society (ACS) journal.

The study examined health data of almost half a million American adults between 1998 and 2019 and found that people who live alone have a 1.32 Times Higher Risk of cancer death compared to those who live with others.

Additionally, the study revealed that men, non-Hispanic white adults, and people with higher education levels are more susceptible to such risks. In conclusion, living alone can be a significant risk factor for cancer, and it is essential to take steps to mitigate this risk.

Of course, this does not mean that people should simply live with anyone, but it might be food for thought for those who left their grandma or grandpa alone.

The risk of cancer death is higher for people who live alone or are socially isolated, according to a study. Men who live an isolated life had a 1.38 times higher risk of cancer death compared to men who live with others.

For women, the increase in risk was 1.30 times higher. The risk was also higher for middle-aged adults aged 45 to 64 who lived alone, with a 1.43 times higher risk.

The study found that there were racial differences in cancer mortality risk and living alone. The link between living alone and cancer death risk was stronger among non-Hispanic White adults compared to non-Hispanic Black adults and did not exist in other racial/ethnic groups.

The association persisted among individuals with higher education levels compared to those with lower education.

The research suggested that stronger social support among people belonging to racial/ethnic minorities and individuals of lower socioeconomic status may have helped alleviate the association between living alone and cancer death risk in such groups.
