Beauty and Fitness Tips for Spring

As warmer weather rolls in, it’s time to Spring-clean your beauty and fitness routine. From skin care to exercise, spring presents a new opportunity to put your best self forward. Follow these tips to have your most beautiful spring yet.

Change Up Your Skin Care
Winter months are dry and harsh, but spring months bring more moisture into the air. That means it’s time to change up your skin care products.

First, exfoliate your skin (from head to toe!) to get off that dry, hard winter layer. Next, tone done your moisturizer. While you may have needed a heavy moisturizer in winter, you can switch to a lighter product for the spring and summer months. Make your moisturizer work double-duty by choosing a product with SPF 30 or more to help protect your skin from increasing levels of sunshine.

You may also want to wash your skin more often now, especially if you are active outdoors. Warmer temperatures may mean more sweat—and more clogged pores. Be sure to clean your in the morning and before bed, as well as after any workout.

Get Moving Outdoors
Motivating yourself to move in the winter—when you really just want to snuggle up in sweatpants—can be hard. Now that it’s warm outside, put on some sunscreen and head out for a walk, jog, or outdoor yoga class. The sunshine will boost your mood and the exercise can help you get rid of any winter weight that snuck up on you.

Switch Up Your Make-Up
Winter is a great time to wear deep reds and berry shades, but spring is all about pinks and golds. Switch out your lipsticks, eyeshadows, and blushes to keep up with the season. If you do get some sun, you may also need to wear a darker foundation and concealer to maintain a natural appearance.

If you haven’t cleaned your make-up brushes recently, spring is also a good time to do that. Simple soap and water can help remove germs and old make-up that are clogging up your bristles and making their way onto your face.

Finally, heavy make-up and warm weather can be a recipe for acne. Try a BB cream or toned moisturizer for lighter coverage while still achieving an even glow.
