Your Chin helps define the borders of your face, giving you a symmetrical, pleasing appearance. Unfortunately, it’s not part of your body you can better define with exercise.

At Galardi-Rosenblum Plastic Surgery in Virginia Beach, Dr. Rosenblum can help you enhance your chin, giving it a new, natural appearance. Using advanced plastic surgery techniques, Dr. Rosenblum creates a chin that adds balance to your face and helps you achieve a younger appearance.

Based on your chin’s needs, Dr. Rosenblum may suggest these procedures:

Chin Implants

A chin implant gives you a more defined chin and jawline, bringing your chin in balance with the rest of your face. Your chin implant, typically made out of silicone, is designed to fit your face and current chin so you have a natural-looking result.

During your surgery, Dr. Rosenblum with make an incision below your chin or inside of your mouth. He will use this incision to place the chin implant around your existing chin bone.

This outpatient procedure takes about one hour to complete. You will be able to go home afterward and return to work in about a week. Your swelling should be gone by one to three months after surgery when you will be able to see your final results.

Neck Lift

Many chin appearance issues are actually related to your Neck. As you age, your neck can begin to sag, creating a double-chin appearance or hiding a previously well-defined chin and jawline. More fat may also begin to develop in the area as muscle grow looser.

A surgical neck lift can fix all these problems, helping your neck look more slender and helping you enjoy a more chiseled jaw and chin.

During a neck lift, Dr. Rosenblum makes small incisions beneath your chin or behind your ears, carefully hiding any small scars that are left behind. He can then use liposuction to remove extra fat and tighten up neck muscles. He will then remove any excess skin and lift the skin into place.

Altogether, the surgery may take between one and four hours. After your surgery, you can return home to heal. Your stitches will come out in a week when you care return to work. You may have some bruising for the first two weeks. By four to six weeks after your surgery, all swelling or bruising should be gone, revealing your beautiful new neck and chin.
