Facelift FAQs

At Rosenblum Plastic Surgery, our plastic surgery experts have years of experience performing facelifts and delivering natural, beautiful looking results. We know you may have a lot of questions about facelifts and have answered some of the most common questions that patients ask below.

Should I get a facelift?

A facelift corrects loose skin of the cheeks, jawline, and neck, restores normal contours of the cheeks, establishes a clean jawline, and corrects excess fat looseness of the chin, giving you a refreshed rested appearance.

What should I expect on the day of my facelift?

When you arrive for your facelift surgical procedure you will be greeted by registered nurse Marianne, our O.R. Manager. She will remain with you from the time you arrive until you are discharged. We are able to provide this level of undivided attention, commitment, and care to our patients because we host only one surgery patient at a time.

During your procedure you will be under anesthesia, sleeping comfortably. When your surgery is complete, you will rest in our recovery facility until ready to be discharged to the comfort of your own home.

What is recovery like after a facelift?

After your facelift, you will return home. You may experience bruising and swelling, but no significant pain. You will need to return to your surgeon’s office within a week to get stitches taken out. You should be able to return to work within a week, though you may still have a little bruising. You can return to normal activities within three weeks.

How long do the results of a facelift last?

Results vary from patient to patient. Although facelift surgery does not stop the aging process, you can make your results last by caring for your skin and abstaining from smoking tobacco.

Does insurance cover facelifts?

Most insurances do not cover facelifts, as it is a cosmetic surgical procedure.
