Hulk Hogan and Steroids – His Admission to Using Drugs and Possible Cycle

Hulk Hogan is one of the most famous old generation wrestlers. It’s no secret that a lot of wrestlers (if not all) use or have used illegal steroids. If you look at the impressive physique of the Hulk, you will see that he certainly is not exception.

Hulk Hogan’s background

Hulk Hogan (really named Terry Bollea) was born August 11, 1953 in Augusta, Georgia. His mother, Ruth Bollea, said that at birth he weighed almost 5 kg (11 pounds).

Hogan was the largest newborn in the hospital, the highest pupil in the class and the greatest student at the university. Even while working in the bank, Hulk could not sit at the table for days, which did not match his impressive growth and weight.

While studying at school, the boy was seriously fond of baseball. Thanks to the desire for victory, Hogan achieved good results in this sport. He was predicted to be the best player in the Florida state. But the injury prevented Hogan from continuing the career of baseball player.

After graduating from college, Hulk Hogan entered the university and studied economics and business. Then he worked in the local bank branch for several years. After work, he used to meet with friends and play the guitar. They organized a music group and performed in local bars. On one of such performances, Hulk met Jack Brisco. This meeting was fateful. Brisco asked Hiro Matsuda to train Hulk for wrestling.

During his free time, Hulk Hogan visited the gym. He was a fan of wrestling since childhood and dreamed of becoming like Billy Graham, who inspired him with his inhuman appearance. During his career, Hulk Hogan received all the coolest titles in wrestling. The athlete won his first world championship in 1984, defeating the unbreakable wrestler The Iron Sheik. The competition was held in Madison Square Garden.

From 1984 to 1991, Hulk Hogan confidently retained the title of world champion. Hulk personally consider his battle with Andre the Giant to be the most significant in his career. More than 92 thousand spectators watched the match. Hulk, whose weight at that time was 125 kg, lifted the Giant weighing 250 kg and threw it into the ring. After this battle, the people came up with a term called wrestlemania (wrestling obsession), denoting a craze for wrestling.

In 1994, July Hulk Hogan was publicly disgraced. It was due to the participation in court hearings, concerning the use of steroids. Hulk started to took steroids in 1976 when he was just starting out as a professional wrestler (as he later admitted.) In the 90’s, Hulk was granted immunity if he gave evidence against Vince McMahon. However, the process collapsed, Vince was acquitted, but it still caused wide public response.

After the end of the process, McMahon shocked journalists and Hogan with a statement that, despite his great joy over the victory of justice, he was deeply disappointed by Hulk Hogan’s lies in court, since Hulk abused steroids more than anyone else.

Despite the problems with steroids, in 1999 the Hulk returned to the big sport. Thanks to Hulk Hogan, wrestling gained enormous popularity in the United States at the end of the last century. This athlete was introduced to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

Hulk Hogan’s steroid using

Can you imagine that one of the greatest and influential professional wrestler admit using steroids and talk openly about it? Hulk discussed his durable experience in using performance-improving meds in 2013 on the show of Rover’s Morning Glory radio.

He said that it was absolutely correct to use steroids at times when his career begun. There were severe restrictions; any doctor could give you appropriate prescription as taking steroids considered safe. There were thousands of athletes from various sports, who used steroids. He specified that initially steroids’ aim was to help with injuries and other medical conditions. They were not meant to be performance enhancers, as they are understood nowadays. Hulk said that the attitude towards steroid using changed dramatically in the middle of 90’s. Consequently, these drugs turned to be illegal. The era, when steroids were used massively in almost every sport has gone. Currently there are rare cases of using them, Hulk consider.

What steroid cycle did Hulk Hogan use?

Unfortunately, there no exact information about the athlete’s steroid cycle. Hulk Hogan never told, which steroid drugs he takes or have taken.

If we analyze any blog, where this issue is being discussed, we can reason that Hulk Hogan has taken several steroid groups in order to increase his sport performance as much as possible. While testifying, he said that oral steroid pills as well as injectable steroids were in his cycle.

Testosterone (probably testosterone enanthate), Anabol and Deca are among the steroids, which the athlete used. According to Hulk’s testimony, Deca was most commonly used steroid.

Testosterone classically was the base of his cycle. With the help of testosterone Hogan managed to recover from serious injury and confirm his WWF leadership in the 80s.

Deca played significant role in building the athlete’s body. As you know this steroid belongs to the group of the hardest and the most solicited steroids on the market. It is due to its great power in gaining muscle mass very fast.

At last, classical Anabol (methandienone), which is also very good steroid, aimed at gaining weight and body recovering, was also probably used by Hogan.
