He began to get involved in martial arts from the age of five, eventually he entered the Gracie Academy, where he began to actively learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Vitor Belfort and anabolic steroids

In 2006, Belfort lost the fight to Dan Henderson. After the battle and checking his tests, he was caught in the use of hydroxytestosterone (a steroid with mild anabolic and mild androgenic properties). Like many other fighters, he did not come up with anything more original than to explain this by taking some kind of legal sports supplement from unscrupulous producers. However, then he referred to his endocrinologist in Brazil, Dr. Rodrigo Greco, who supposedly gave him a drug containing a testosterone derivative after the operation. Greco sent a letter to the California State Athletic Commission acknowledging the prescription of such a drug and that the patient knew nothing about such a prescription, to which the Athletic Commission replied that ignorance does not exempt a person from this responsibility. Vitor was fined 10 000 dollars and disqualified for 9 months. Vitor has repeatedly been caught on the use of anabolic steroids. He has probably used the best steroid stack.

Comments of other athletes regarding the use of steroids by Belfort

In 2014, former Strikeforce champion and No. 5 fighter in the UFC middleweight rating, Luke Rockhold, spoke about his former opponent, Vitor Belfort, in an interview with Fight Now TV.

Luke Rockhold said the following:

“I do not believe a single word of what Belfort says, and I do not believe that he’s clean. Vitor used steroids throughout his career, and I’m ready to say this to him, real MMA fans know what’s going on. If you seriously believe that he is clean – I’m sorry. Simply speaking, I do not respect Vitor Belfort for what he did.”

In 2015, former UFC champion John Jones commented on the situation with the failure of the doping test by Victor Belfort before the fight with him and his loss of the title.

He said:

“Vitor Belfort was on steroids when I fought him, the UFC is very knowledgeable about the entire path of every fighter up to the fight, they let the fight happen, knowing that I will fight a guy taking steroids, which is dangerous for life. take into account his age and the stage of his career … During the weigh-in, I looked at definition of his muscle and thought that I was a few years younger, but he looks stronger than I. I realized that I was very hard at training during my stay camp. I just want the fans to find out about the machinations they’re doing. ”

Return of Vitor Belfort

Although the sportsman was going to retire, he stayed in his sports career. Recently, Belfort introduced his next opponent and the date of the fight in Instagram. It will be a show that UFC has not announced yet, and it will be held in 2018. “I just signed the agreement on the fight on January 14 at the UFC show,” Belfortwrote. “I’ve always been looking for big challenges and my last fight in the UFC will not be an exception. Uriah Hall, it’s an honor, to be in the same cage with such a young & talented fighter. Thank you for taking the offer!”

UFC has not officially announced this potential fight yet. If the fight is really signed, then the previous Belfort fight, when he won in June 2017 at UFC 212, Nate Marquardt, was not the last. That fight with Marquardt interrupted the series of Belfort’s brutal bloody defeats (three in a row).
