Who is Selena Gomez?

Selena Gomez was born in Grand Prairies, Texas on the 22nd of July, 1992. She is the daughter of, former stage actress Amanda Cornett of Italian ancestry and Ricardo Gomez of Mexican descent. Her name was given to her by her mother who comes from the Tex-Mex singer Selena Perez who died in 1995. Her parents divorced and remarried again. Her mother Amanda had a kid from her second husband named Gracie Elliot Teefey that was born June 12, 2013, and her father had a daughter with his wife Sarah Gomez on the 25th of July, 2013 named Victoria Gomez. Selena was homeschooled by her mother and got her high school diploma In May of 2010. Selena’s mother, Amanda, was only 16 years of age when Selena was born. Selena considered her mother an inspiration, because, even after the divorce, she kept working many jobs and kept her head steady. She also said that their financial problems were so horrible, one night they had to search for change for gas money and for the Spaghetti that was for dinner that night.

Selena became interested in the Entertainment industry because of her mother and her job as a stage actress. Her first audition was on the kid’s TV show “Bareny&Friends.” She got the part, alongside American actress, Demi Lovato, and appeared on the show in 2002. She appeared in that show from 2002 to 2004, in 14 episodes, then they had to remove her because she got “too old” for the role. During that time, she had some cameo, like “Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over”, she was a guest star in the Disney Show “The Suite Life of Zach & Cody.”

Her relationship with Disney got better ever since. She got the lead role in the Disney Show “Wizards of Waverly Place,” which was a big hit in the television industry. Because of that role, she moved to Hollywood, Los Angeles, California with her family. Because of that show, she won numerous nomination and awards; she recorded the theme song of that series called “Everything is not What It Seems.” She then appeared in the music video “Burnin Up,” that the Jonas Brothers recorded and released. She also appeared with them in an episode of the reality series “Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream.”

So, when she showed up with her bulging tummy and her well-rounded figure in a bathing suit on the beach, she became the talk of the town. The singer was even called names like “fat.”
