April 10, 2018. A mother from Rochdale who was born with HIV wants more women to get tested. The virus levels are so low in Paida Mutopo that she isn't at risk of passing it on. Her son has been tested and has no signs of the disease. She hopes that by speaking out she can show women that there is no stigma. A quarter of people living with HIV in the North West are women but according to one charity campaigns are too focused on gay men. Research by the Terrence Trust reveals almost half of women with HIV were diagnosed late. ITV.

Four out of five patients with hepatitis C don't even know they're infected, but in the long term, they might develop cancer or cirrhosis of the liver, leading to 1.3 million deaths worldwide each year. The W.H.O wants to eliminate hepatitis C by 2030, and some countries like Egypt, Georgia and New Zealand are on track. Others like the US and the UK aren't. Victims and their families of people who claim they were infected have won a ruling allowing them to seek compensation.
