Change of Direction

If you have been following Shirt and Tie Fitness for some time, then this may come as a surprise to you. If you liked my previous posts, then great – I’m glad they could help and give you some helpful advice and direction. But the time has come, to take this blog elsewhere. I’ve decided to take Shirt and Tie Fitness in a new direction.

If you’re wondering why, it really is quite simple: I’ve lost interest in writing about Fitness Trends, writing in Third Person and writing for the masses. It is here I will impart some wisdom:

“When you try to be everything to everyone, you accomplish being nothing to anyone”.

At its inception, Shirt and Tie Fitness was created with a purpose, to write Fitness and Health advice for the Office Worker. Unfortunately, I got lost along the way; trying to write in a way where anyone and everyone would benefit. I was wrong in my judgement.

I was also guilty of being afraid to upset the applecart, often leaving out personal opinion, experience and judgement to ‘fit in’ with what was being published elsewhere online. That’s exactly what I set out NOT to do. In an industry of barbaric recommendations and misconceptions, it needs less of it, not more.

So if you like my writing style, my content and what I have to say – great, I appreciate your support and would appreciate your comments. If you don’t like any of these things or what I am trying to achieve with the blog – then all I can say is goodbye. This is not the blog for you.

The Future of Shirt and Tie Fitness

Put frankly, I’m quite sick of the pertinent advice of the fitness industry and all that it currently stands for; the widespread steroid abuse, expensive and ineffective supplements, the dangers of dieting, impractical and unhealthy diet and nutrition advice – could go on. These are just the tip of the iceberg. I want to explore these topics more deeply, which up until now, get ignored or quashed. These are the topics that need addressing and now, not in how to do the perfect plank. Just go on YouTube for that.

So I’m going to write more instinctively, more emotionally, more frequently. I will write when I have something to add, on what I think needs addressing, and how I want to address these issues. Because, let’s be honest, this will be far more beneficial to you, my audience.

In a time where nonsense seems to prevail; never has the raw truth seemed so alluring and attractive. And ironically, despite all this information, never have you ever needed the raw truth so badly because, believe it or not – this is what you, as an office worker, need to hear.

If you are wondering what you can expect – I’d like to expand beyond fitness, including nutrition, lifestyle and health; and not just physical but mental and emotional health.

But more on these in months to come.
