Today was Arm day. I like arm day. I love the feeling of my arms and shoulders being sore so good!
Who doesn’t?
Here are some of my favorite workouts for the arms.
What do we love? We love a well defined bicep. What can we do to define that bicep? CURLS!
- Cable curl
- Incline curl
- Hammer curl
- Barbell curl
Triceps
- Skull crusher
- Kickback (I love these ones. I can feel the muscles stretching)
- Cable pull-down
- Overhead dumbbell extension
- Seated Triceps extension (this is another I really like. I can always feel it in my shoulder blades and triceps.)
Push ups – they’re just good for everything. Triceps, biceps, back, abs, booty, legs. The push up is a full body workout that I absolutely hate. I can do one or two. Girly ones. Because push ups suck. Do them. They’re good for you.
Standing overhead Dumbbell press.
Dumbbell lateral raise (Another good one for the shoulders.)
If you’re brave…there’s the renegade row. What the heck is a renegade row? Well you get into a plank position while holding onto dumbbells. Then you alternate rising arms. Renegade row.
Bent over row (It is what it sounds like. Bend over, lift)
Front dumbbell raise
Seated concentration curls (When you see the bodybuilders sitting and staring at their arms? That’s the concentration curl)
Dumbbell pullover (Illustration 1 for a challenge. Illustration 2 for something easier.)
Those are just a few of my favorites for working the arms.
