Pittsburgh is a mess of concrete, skyscrapers, bars, and cars. Not too much in the way of acers of forest.
Or is there?
Not to far from Downtown Pittsburgh, maybe a 20 minute drive without traffic, is Boyce park. It’s nestled between Monroeville and Plum borough.
There’s skiing in the winter, the wave pool in the summer, a skate park, and of course playgrounds.
There are also Hiking trails.
It’s beautiful and easy trails to get lost on during the day. I love hiking. I grew up spending endless hours hiking, canoeing, and white water rafting. I’m rather partial to Ohiopyle. But that’s another post for another day.
Boyce offers that quick hiking satisfaction.
So there is some forested beauty not far from downtown Pittsburgh. Good trails to curb your inner hiker.
Go enjoy the outside sometimes.
