Bacon-Wrapped Keto Hot Dogs (Cheesy Version)

Frankfurter, frank, wiener, weenie, coney, red hot..sounds familiar? All these nicknames mean the same dish – “Hot Dog”. Traditional Hot Dog refer to the American cuisine.

And today we prepared for you super delicious keto hot dog recipe, so you have opportunity to enjoy famous street food even when you are on keto.

Our Bacon Wrapped Keto Hot Dogs are super easy to cook and contain only 1.6g of net carbs per serving. Our low carb secret is that we do not use any burn. No buns – no carbs!

We just wrap the bacon stripes around sausages (which we stuffed with cheese) and bake our hot dogs, so the bacon become golden and crispy.

The highest carb ingredient are the hot-dogs itself with 1.6g of net carbs per serving.

Ingredients

We recommend you to use grass-fed uncured beef hot dogs for this dish. Such hot dogs normally have no artificial ingredients, no nitrite, no nitrate added and are minimally processed, so they contain much less carbs then usual hot dogs.

Step 1.

First, preheat the oven to 400F (200C) and arrange all ingredients on your working surface.

Slice the cheese into small long rectangles. The size of the rectangles should be as big as the length of your hot dogs, so you can put two cheese slices in one hot dog.

Step 2.

Make long, lengthwise cuts in your hot dogs and stuff them with cheese slices. Put 2 slices of cheese in each hot dog.

Step 3.

Take 2 bacon stripes and wrap around each stuffed hot dog. Make sure to secure bacon edges with toothpicks, just to keep bacon stripes in their place.

Step 4.

Put wrapped hot dogs on a wire rack placed over lined baking tray, season with chili powder, garlic flakes, salt, black pepper and transfer to a preheated oven for 35 minutes.

If you want your hot dogs to be more crispy, you can turn your oven to grill for the last 3-5 minutes of cooking, but be careful not to burn the bacon.

Take your hot dogs out of the oven, let sit for 2 minutes and take toothpicks out.

Serving

Serve immediately with steamed broccoli florets sprinkled with grated Grana Padano cheese or feel free to serve with any other low carb side dish of your choice.
