South Texas College Department of Psychological Science is set to host its annual Emerging Scientist Symposium (ESS).
The one-day event will showcase interactive presentations, research proposals and a panel discussion hosted by Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, a new addition to the symposium. ESS will help foster and promote psychological science, scientific thinking, literacy and research skills among emerging student researchers from various departments.
STC students, faculty, staff and the community are welcome to attend the symposium and engage in the presentations and discussions to witness firsthand how the psychological science discipline and other sciences converge and contribute to our daily lives.
STC’s Department of Psychological Science annually hosts the ESS to showcase the empirical research process and proposals of two-year institution students interested in pursuing undergraduate research. The symposium serves as an opportunity for students to develop highly marketable skills that are needed in advanced academic programs and across the workforce.

| WHO: STC faculty, staff, traditional and dual credit students, STC Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, RGV community members, students from local school districts, featured young scientists from St. Paul Lutheran School in McAllen and partnering universities such as the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, Our Lady of the Lake University, Texas A&M University Kingsville and Bellevue University will be in attendance. |
