DHR Health Oncology Institute will host a “Achieving Your Wellness Plan in 2024” seminar from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Edinburg Conference Center at Renaissance located at 118 Paseo Del Prado. The event is free of charge and open to all men and women of the Rio Grande Valley.
Attendees will hear from various DHR Health physicians and speakers on a variety of health topics. These include:
9:05 to 10:00 am
“Improving Quality of Life for People with Cancer through Wellness & Self-Care,” by
Dr. Saroja Viswamitra, DHR Health Physiatrist and Chief Medical Officer
10:00 to 10:30 am
“The Importance of Breast Health,” by Sylvia Granados, DHR Health Surgery Institute Patient Navigator
10:40 to 11:10 am
“The Power of Colonoscopy in Preventative Care,” by Dr. S. Murthy Badiga, DHR Health Gastroenterologist
11:10 to 11:40 am
“Nourishing your Health through Smart Nutrition,” by Dr. Aline Mina Hawat, DHR Health Clinical Dietician
Attendees can expect to become more familiar with preventive screenings such as mammograms, colonoscopies, wellness checks, and the benefits of incorporating exercise and proper nutrition to assist with overall health outcomes.
