EDINBURG, Texas – Annually on October 18th, healthcare systems around the world come together to observe Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day, or B.R.A. Day. The day was established to cast a spotlight on the various breast reconstruction choices available to women who have bravely undergone breast cancer surgery. As part of their ongoing effort to raise awareness about B.R.A. Day, DHR Health, in partnership with longtime local health show, La Salud Del Valle (The Health of the Valley), are proud to announce the 14th Annual Breast Cancer Survivors Fashion Show. The event will take place on October 18th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Edinburg Center at Renaissance located at 118 Paseo del Prado in Edinburg.
Serving as runway models for the fashion show are inspirational women who are either cancer survivors, have undergone breast reconstruction due to breast cancer, or are scheduled for the procedure. The clothing for the models is being provided courtesy of Dillard’s Department Store. The evening will also include insightful presentations from highly sought-after physicians from the DHR Health Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Institute: Dr. Mauricio De La Garza, Dr. Alexander Chase Castillo, and Dr. Ali Kilic. The physicians will speak about the multi-step reconstructive surgery that typically follows the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer. DHR Health is proud to offer state-of-the art technology and procedures to support these vital medical services.
