Skincare Tips To Get Blemish Free Skin

People suffer from all sorts of trouble with their Skin, and acne has to be one of the truly problematic skin conditions to resolve. Contrary to common perception, acne does not only happen during adolescence, adults can get it too. Kate Winslet found herself in an acne situation way beyond puberty, “I had a terrible bout of acne after I turned 30. I kept reading about my sodding dewy complexion and thinking, ‘…look at me, I’m covered in bloody spots, proper cystic bumps, if only they knew.’”

Acne care tips to tackle the real issues with acne

Here are the Top 10 solutions to finally own that flawless, blemish-free skin you’ve been wishing for:

Tip No. 1: Get yourself an over-the- counter anti-acne solution. It can be a facial wash with salicylic acid in it or an acne cream that contains benzyl peroxide solution or both. Salicylic acid works by controlling your skin shedding because less shedding means lower likelihood of clogging or infecting your skin.

Tip No. 2: Review and evaluate your skincare routine. Now that an acne breakout is present or imminent, you must make sure that your routine is appropriately adjusted to respond to your skin’s changing needs.

First of all, rid your routine of products that contain harsh ingredients, most especially drying alcohol, fragrance and sulfates that can irritate your skin or cause it to become more inflamed than it already is.  Next, incorporate anti-acne solutions into your routine but, keep in mind that your strategy is to keep your routine lean and mean. Too many products means higher risk for irritation and infection.

Tip No. 3: Observe your triggers. What is causing you to breakout? Is it a certain food, pollution, excessively oily skin or even stress? Then, you should deliberately avoid these triggers.

Tip No. 4: Use topical antibiotics if you feel necessary. You do not want to get into topical antibiotics such as erythromycin or ziana too early. That’s because of the probability that the acne causing bacteria that thrives on your skin may develop drug resistance. That means more problems for you later. Always follow the prescribed dosage when using antibiotics.

Tip No. 5. Use only soap-free cleanser all acne affected areas of your skin.  A soap-free solution that also contains either salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide will be ideal. Sulfates which causes your soaps and shampoos to lather leave behind residues that get stuck in your pores which, in turn, can trigger acne infections.

Tip No. 6: Fold in tea tree oil in your regimen.  Tea tree oil happens to be one of the best essential oils for acne . It neutralizes the effect of acne-causing bacteria on your skin without the need to dry it out. Use Tea Tree Oil as a purifying mask. Soak your skin in it by wetting a sheet of rice paper and placing it on your skin.

Leave on for at least 15 minutes before rinsing off with lukewarm water.

Tip No. 7: Avail of clinical procedures.  Non-invasive procedures such as blue light therapy and red light therapy have been shown to significantly relieve skin of swelling and blemishes, and kill acne causing bacteria on the skin. Even after acne has been cleared, the next pressing skin issue you probably have to deal with is, ‘how to get rid of acne scars’. For which, ask about Cosmelan, chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser treatments.

Tip No. 8: Improve the way you deal with stress.  Everybody gets stressed everyday because it is a part of life. Learn to detach your emotions from stressors that do not need your emotions to be resolved, that includes stress caused by work and by your professional networks most especially.

Tip No. 9: Watch what you put into your body.  Acne is a reaction of your body to mostly biochemical imbalances happening inside your body which can possibly be caused by hormonal spikes and drops, but also of other medical conditions, including medications. Eat a balanced diet but also check if your medications could be causing you acne.

Tip No. 10. Sleep. The best therapy your skin deserves is sleep.  Allow your body sufficient time to be treated and rejuvenated.

CONCLUSION

Acne is so much more than a skin infection. You need to combine topical, oral and lifesyle solutions often to get the beautiful skin you’ve always deserved.
