Why targeted Supervised Toothbrushing is the smart, yet simple approach for equitable children’s oral health  Last week colleagues at the British Society of Paediatric Dentistry and I sighed with collective relief when, after over ten years of calling for supervised toothbrushing in England, the Labour Party announced a scheme to target three to five year olds in the twenty percent most deprived areas in England (based on the CORE20 part of the CORE20PLUS5 CYP1 initiative). There is evidence, from Scotland that reaching children as early as possible with supervised toothbrushing schemes gives them a better oral health start to life
