If you're experiencing problem of varicose veins

If you’re in Boston Ma and you’re experiencing the problem of Varicose Veins then you have landed on the right page of Boston Vein Care.

Overview of Varicose Veins:

The veins are gnarled and are usually enlarged. Any vein can become varicose but mainly the condition occurs in legs and feet. This is because standing straight up for hours or doing some exertion puts pressure on the legs or feet which are responsible for this abnormal condition to develop. However, there are some people who believe that this condition and the spider veins ( which are a mild variation of Varicose Veins ) are merely a cosmetic concern. For some people it causes discomfort accompanied by pain. Sometimes if this condition is left untreated can lead to some serious complications. In addition to this the veins can also signal an increased risk of other circulatory problems. The treatment involves self-care or closing of the veins.

Symptoms:

As mentioned before the condition varies from person to person. In some people it might cause but it usually doesn’t.  The common symptoms that appear are :

  • veins appear dark or purple sometimes blue color also appear.

  • Veins appear to be bulging and cords to appear on the leg.

If pain occurs when there is a slight change in the symptoms that are listed as follows:

  • achy feeling in the legs

  • muscle cramping and burning is quite common

  • the pain is worsened if the patient stands for a longer time.

  • Bleeding from the varicose veins.

  • Color changes the vein hardens and inflammation on the surface of skin sometimes ulcers occur.

Treatment for Varicose veins through laser therapy:

Endovenous laser ablation has many proprietary names such as EVLT, ELVes, VeinSeal. ELVA is a new method for treating varicose veins without going through surgery. Rather than typing and removing the abnormal veins are heated up by the laser. The heat produced by the laser kills the wall of the veins transforming it into dead tissue which is then absorbed by the body and the abnormal veins are destroyed in this process.First of all a small ultrasound scan is performed and the veins which are to be treated are marked by the pen. Endovenous, as we know means inside the vein so a small amount of anesthesia is applied and is injected through the skin over the vein and a needle, is induced in it. There’s a wire that is passed through the needle and up the vein. A catheter is passed over the wire while the needle and the wire is removed afterward. A laser fiber is passed up the catheter and its tip is at the highest point which is going to be heated. The treatment almost takes about 20-30 minutes approximately. Anesthesia is applied throughout the process so as to numb the site where the procedure is being performed.

Pros of laser therapy :

general anesthesia is not required for the procedure· hospitalization isn’t necessary either.·         Due to anesthesia applied at the procedure zone pain is the minimal·         risk of complications are quite low.·         Affordable.

Cons of laser therapy:

  • thrombophlebitis

  • nerve damage might occur

  • burns
