We sometimes underestimate the influence of small things but it’s the small things that make a big difference! Here are some useful tips that can help you create a healthier lifestyle.

1. Drink Lots of water

Water is very important for the proper functioning of our Body and since we lose water everyday through urine, bowel movements and perspiration, it is important to replenish our water intake. Water also helps in releasing toxins, so always keeping hydrated is a key factor for staying healthy.

2. Eat nuts

Studies suggest that consumers who eat a handful of nuts per day may reduce the risk of developing Heart Disease by 30-50% and reduce the risk of death from heart disease by approximately 20%. Nuts are packed with protein, fibre and essential fats and are great vitality boosting snacks and also provide a variety of vital vitamins and minerals.
3. Get enough sleep 

Adults optimally need 7-9hours of sleep a night and research has shown that proper amounts of sleep have countless health benefits including help reduce stress, help with weight loss and help keep the immune system strong.
4.  Get moving 

Exercising regularly has tremendous benefits to our health including higher life span, weight loss and higher bone density. You don’t have to be exercising for long hours or everyday- keeping fit isn’t about suffering and pushing yourself. Even if it’s just brisk walking or taking the stairs, make it a habit to incorporate physical activity in your life. Going for a walk and breathing in some fresh air is not only good for the body but also for the soul! Also make sure to choose an activity that you like as when you enjoy the sports you’ll naturally do them.
5. Meditate

Good health isn’t only about eating healthy and keeping fit- It also means a having a healthy mental state. Our mental state affects our well being and meditation is important for maintaining psychological balance. Studies have shown that meditation also helps with a number of conditions like high blood pressure and pain.
6. Eat more fruits and vegetables

Eating a variety of fruits and vegetables help reduce the risk of many diseases, including heart disease, high blood pressure, constipation and may even reduce risk of certain cancers.
7. Cut down on processed food

Processed foods contain a lot of preservatives, added sugar, salt and contain barely any nutritional values. Processed foods contribute to weight gain, higher cholesterol intake and increase the risks of diseases. You’ll do your body a favour by ditching processed foods and making your own healthy dishes (I will be sharing easy and simple healthy recipes).
8. Fuel your body for the day

A good and healthy breakfast is very important to help fuel your body for the day. A combination of carbohydrates, fibre, protein and a small amount of fats will not only leave you feeling full for hours but also provides big health benefits. A big bowl of oats and nuts is not only packed with essential vitamins and minerals but will also keep you full for a hours.
A wise man once said, “To keep our body healthy is a duty… Otherwise we shall not be able to keep our mind strong and clear”. A healthy lifestyle will improve all aspects of your life so do not wait to get started on your wellness journey
