More and more beauty brands come out with cruelty-free or vegan lines and products. Companies seem to realize that most people prefer products that did not harm any animals during the production process. They also want products that contain fewer ingredients and also more natural ingredients and not only chemicals and substances where no one really knows what they are and what they are derived off. I mean, who wants to put unknown chemicals on their face?

The following list focuses on my top 5 Vegan Beauty Brands. While I think it is important to shed a light on different vegan product lines of non-vegan companies, I also like to have a list of some amazing businesses that only carry vegan items either from the get-go or that have completely transitioned in order to bring more attention to them so they can grow.

1. Kinder Beauty

Kinder Beauty, founded by Daniella Monet and Evanna Lynch, does not produce its own cosmetics, so technically it is not its own beauty brand per se. But they source an array of vegan and cruelty-free brands and create a box filled with the best items. Subscribers of Kinder Beauty then get a box sent each month with a variety of beauty products for less than 30Ł per month but with a value of more than 100Ł. What’s nice about Kinder Beauty is that you get to now a bunch of great vegan cosmetic brands in the process.

2. essence

I believe essence was the first makeup I ever bought. While they used to only be partially vegan, they now finally switched to 100% vegan ingredients. Not just do I love that they are fully vegan now, they are also very affordable and you don’t have to spend half your salary on only a few items. This brand has been my staple for over a decade and now that they are fully vegan, they will remain a staple in the future.

3. KVD Vegan Beauty

KVD Vegan Beauty, formerly known as Kat von D Beauty, has been a trailblazer in high-end vegan cosmetics for years. The brand is known for its bold, long-lasting colors and the famous tattoo liner. Tattoos are also what first inspired the creation of the brand and body art has remained an inspiration for future products as well. The red lipsticks are some of my favorites.

4. Alverde

The Alverde cosmetic brand is unfortunately currently only available in certain stores in some European countries, mainly Germany and Austria. They offer very affordable, natural beauty products and aside from being vegan and cruelty-free, they also make sure their products don’t contain microplastic and a lot of their items are either fully plastic-free or packed in 100% recycled material.

5. Milk Makeup

While the name suggests otherwise, Milk Makeup is actually 100% vegan and cruelty-free. They have a large range of bright colors and they are well known for their Hydro Grip Primer, which makes your makeup stay in its place while also hydrating your face. The brand is also committed to being diverse and inclusive on all levels and they are very transparent about it.

There are so many great vegan beauty brands out there. I am looking forward to seeing what other innovations they will come up with in the future. I really hope, more of them will start reducing their waste as well and moving towards a more plastic free packaging and production process. Which brands are your favorite?
