It has been largely proved that compassionate care reduces anxiety in the client which has its impact on rate of recovery or ability to heal. Compassion cannot be taught but is inborn and it touches the lives of every client and instills hope and faith. In a home care setup compassion and love aides the nurse to be aware of the fact that a fall or infection could cause unnecessary suffering and takes steps to deal with those issues by analyzing the environment for potential hazards or practicing good infection control techniques. Gentleness of the heart will teach gentleness to the hand and to the manners. Compassion is not a single task but an umbrella which hides faith, hope, trust, confidence, passion, sympathy, empathy, dedication and understanding and hence is crucial in building a healthy relationship with the client to bring out best of the care planned.
