Almost everyone have had an encounter with cold and in my own experience, it's not a good one at all.

Most time, it comes with a runny nose, sneezing, coughing and eye-itching.

So how long should it last?

How long does a cold last for in the body?


Cold symptoms usually start 2 or 3 days after a person has been exposed to a source of infection. People with colds are most contagious for the first 3 or 4 days after the symptoms begin and can be contagious for up to 3 weeks. Although some colds can linger for as long as 2 weeks, most clear up within a week.

  • Warm lemon water with honey can help loosen congestion. Mix the juice of ½ a lemon with one cup warm water.

  • Avoid alcohol and caffeinated beverages.
