Change without Changing

It's been a holiday season filled with delights, surprises, and lots of love (and a miracle or two thrown in for good measure). Sitting on the cusp of the new year I'm filled with gratitude for the past year and all of the gifts it gave me. Before the dancing in the kitchen starts up (you gotta love Amazon Prime Music -- the Classy Classic New Year's Eve playlist is pulled up and ready to go), the food gets eaten, the snuggles are had, and the New Year's toasts are made, I want to say what I say to you at the end of each post: namaste! I bow to you. I bow to your light and your dark, to your heart, to your mind, to your soul, to all of the quirks, traits, beauty, and magic that make you you. I bow to you and the experiences you've had over this past year and for the experiences to come in 2016.

As I mentioned last year, I don't care all that much about resolutions. That hasn't changed. My pose for the year is Vriksasana. For me, it's about embodying poise when the wind blows -- a reminder to go inward and get grounded before being pulled in a million different directions on the outside. My practice for the day centered around gratitude for all that's been in 2015 and ended with a seemingly anti-traditional New Year's intention -- to not change or fix anything. [Insert car slamming on brakes and screeching to a halt sound here] That's right -- I'm not going to change a darned thing this year. I'm merely going to have a relationship with it. This year it's about connecting with and Relating to what is rather than forcing it (or myself) to be different. Who knows what truth telling, acceptance, connection and relating will bring? The new year will be the opportunity for me to find out.

Before I give you my final namaste for 2015, I'd like to leave you with a few goodies:

Energy Balance Kriya -- If you're finding yourself feeling stressed or anxious or if you'd like to clear the decks, so to speak, before meditation or quiet time, try this Wonderful Kundalini Kriya. It's one of my favorites.

Hallelujah -- There's just something that happens when I listen to the first strains of this wonderful Song. Try taking a 3-minute Hallelujah break before the New Year's celebrations begin. This wonderful gift from Spirit Voyage offers free downloads of the song by a number of artists. May the peace of Hallelujah wash over you.

Kripalu Online Yoga Classes -- Looking for a new class to kick off the new year or to enliven your existing yoga practice? Kripalu is offering a wonderful selection of free online classes.

I bow to you, wishing you a joyous 2016.

And here it is, the last one of 2015...

Namaste!
