“FREE” EVV Can Cost You

The 21st Century CURES Act, signed into law on December 13, 2016, requires states to implement an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system for Personal Care Services (PCS) by 1/1/19 (extended to 1/1/20) and for Home Health Care Services (HHCS) by 1/1/23. The Act simply stipulates that EVV systems must verify the type of service performed, the individual receiving the service, date of the service, location of the service delivery, the individual providing services, and the time the service begins and ends.

Providers have various options for Compliance with different levels of complexity. Various states have made decisions or are in the process of doing so. Many providers are concerned about what EVV will be like: Will it create a lot of extra work in our already busy days? Should I go with what my state offers for “free”?

With increased regulation and demand on home care operators, MatrixCare is committed to offloading the burden of compliance for EVV by partnering with different aggregators.
