Amla is probably the richest source of vitamin C which is readily assimilated by the human body.

Amla is useful for the treatment of rheumatism. Try this simple recipe:

  • Mix one tsp of amla powder with one tsp of jaggery and take this twice daily for a month for improved results.

Here is a yummy amla chutney, one of of favorites..

  • In a blender, take 4-6 amla deseed and diced, 2 green chilies, 1 tsp mustard oil, half tsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves chopped and salt to taste. Make a coarse textured paste and serve.
