Basta Pasta in North Quincy May Be Torn Down to Make Way for Apartments

It looks like the future of an Italian Restaurant just south of the Boston line may be in question.

According to an article in the Patriot Ledger, a proposal to tear down Basta Pasta in North Quincy and replace it with a four-story apartment building is apparently going to be looked at by the city later this month, and it appears that the owner of the Hancock Street dining spot (Bledar Huxhallari) is also behind the plans for the apartments. The eatery first opened in 2009, replacing another restaurant called Tullio's; another location of Basta Pasta--which is the original--can be found on Western Avenue in the Cambridgeport section of Cambridge. (Huxhallari also operates a third place called Buco Trattoria, which is located on Summer Street in Boston's Fort Point neighborhood.)

The article for the North Quincy location of Basta Pasta is 150 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA, 02171. The website for both locations is at: http://bastapastacambridge.com/
