One of the Bitcoin exchanges to watch out for this year is Luno. Previously named as BitX, Luno had its new name this January 11, 2017. The exchange decided to re-brand its name to give way to their expansion and launching of new products.

According to their blog written by the CEO Marcus Swanepoel:

At the same time, it also reflects our responsibility in helping people safely escape the gravity of the existing financial system. It is one of the world’s only constants, and in many ways it is the world’s one true leveller”.

Changes includes cheaper, safer and faster transactions; more privacy and Financial freedom, a significantly finer user experience and finally more equality by providing everybody in the world access to the same financial system. Some of the new products they announced are the new desktop and mobile apps and a learning portal for newbies to learn more about the cryptocurrency. New services includes the ability to buy Bitcoin from almost anywhere in the world using credit card and the Enterprise B2B platform which is currently tested with the regulators in the UK.

The exchange has been around since the early 2013 and has headquarters in Singapore, Cape Town and now also in London. It operates in countries such as Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, South Africa and the United Kingdom, building a bigger prescence to European markets through their newly built office in London.

Buying Bitcoin with Luno comes in three easy steps.

• First is to sign up a free Bitcoin wallet whether on the web or on your mobile phones (iOS and Android). Confirm your identity via mobile phone verification where a code is sent to you phone number and your identity card number. Easy!
• Secondly, fund your account using any payment method of your choice such as local bank transfer or using credit card.
• Finally, convert your money to Bitcoin. Luno promises to keep your coins secure and easy for you to send and spend.
