Clint Eastwood sells Californian mansion

Clint Eastwood Sells Californian Mansion

Clint Eastwood is quietly selling off his Californian mansion.

The actor, director and all-round Hollywood legend has been an icon of the screen ever since his turn as The Man with No Name in Sergio Leone’s Spaghetti Westerns and Dirty Harry. Today, he’s more often seen behind the camera, with his latest directorial effort, Sully – starring Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart – released in cinemas at the end of last year.

While Eastwood is still active in the movie biz, though, he’s found the time to sell up his Spanish Property in Pebble Beach. The property was bought by the Oscar winner back in 1994 for a humble $3.9 million. The hacienda-style home, which spans 7,000 square feet, has five bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms, an oak-shaded courtyard and a living room with a fireplace “about tall enough to stand in”, reports Variety’s real estate scouts.

Eastwood is no stranger to such impressive real estate assets: he’s part of a group of investors who paid $820 million for Pebble Beach Golf Links in the 1990s, and also owns the Tehama Golf Club, which he has a mansion among 14 hilltop acres. Add in two homes near the Bel-Air Country Club and you have a portfolio befitting of a Hollywood hero. The sale of this home for $9.75 million, then, should be small change for the director, who is no doubt feeling lucky about finding a buyer.

Jeff Bezos buys biggest house in Washington

What do you get the man who has it all? The biggest house in Washington, according to The Washington Post. The paper reports that the founder of Amazon, the website that sells everything under the sun, snapped up at the city’s largest private residence. The home, which spans 27,000 square feet, was bought by Bezos, who also happens to own the Washington Post, for a whopping $23 million. A former textile museum, Bezos will convert the estate into a single-family mansion – just the thing for handy storage if his Amazon warehouses ever run out of space.

Frank Lloyd Wright house with waterfall for sale

Any home by a waterfall is always one to put on your buying wishlist. Any Frank Lloyd Wright home, too, is a guaranteed a spot in our dreams. A house that combines the two? That’s gold dust. And it could now be yours, as a 1955 property in New Canaan, Connectictut, has just come on the market – all you need is $8 million.

Called Tiranna, named after the aboriginal word for “running water”, the home sits by the Noroton River and has 15 acres to its name, with the current owners preserving the property for the last 20 years, while still giving it an extensive restoration.

The house itself spans 7,000 square feet and has all the features you could want from a FLW property, including seven bedrooms, an open-plan living space, and a rotating steel and glass observatory.
